Who remembers Aisle 7C?

It's hard to believe that the history of Toys "R" Us dates back to the 1940s. As far as I can remember, I was first introduced to Toys "R" Us in the early to mid-80s. The only one near the town I grew up in was located in the nearby capital city, so venturing there was always a special treat. I later attended college much closer to that store, and in the 90s it became a regular haunt and favorite location for picking up all manner of toy lines I was collecting at that time. As a kid, I remember entering the big main entrance and immediately looking for the overhead sign for what I knew to be the heart of the action figure section... Aisle 7C. It wasn't until years later when I started finding other TRUs in other parts of the state and neighboring areas that I realized that this varied from store-to-store. Sometimes it would be Aisle 7D, or 6C, or whatever... but my "home" toy aisle was always Aisle 7C. The label has stuck so soundly in my mind that I had wanted to name this website Aisle 7C Toys and Collectibles, which I think would have been extremely cool and nostalgic, but I was concerned that "aisle" would be too easy to misspell or miss-hear, and probably harder to associate imagery and branding with as well. Especially without running afoul of the actual Toys "R" Us trademarks. But in my heart, this website is now my version of that beloved mecca of all things plastic and glorious.
