Doctor Who vintage Sonic Screwdriver replica released by Spirit of Light Entertainment (S.O.L.E.) Ltd. in 1985. These screwdrivers are plastic and were sold unpainted so that they can be styled to represent the 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 8th Doctor's sonic device. Item has never been painted and is in near-mint condition. The screwdriver is electronic and the sound effects work perfectly as of a recent test. (The battery compartment is shown in one picture however the two AA batteries shown will not be shipped with the item to prevent damage. The batteries are only shown for reference.) There is no corrosion in the battery compartment.
Some reference photos online show an extra piece on the head of the device that this one did not come with originally. If it is missing a piece it was missing from the manufacturer in 1985 when this was originally purchased. It is difficult to tell for sure as the Doctor's sonic screwdriver did change appearance several times between 1970 and 1984.
Note: This sonic screwdriver is 11 inches long. Modern replicas of this device are typically closer to 8 inches, making this a very unique piece. Please feel free to contact us with questions.
